Project Relocation for SMCT

In December 2015 Mcorp were proud to be appointed by Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (SMCT) to project manage the relocation of the Bunurong Memorial Park. This project allowed the SMCT to move to bigger premises with a wider range of facilities including reflection spaces, function rooms, a café, and a Greek Orthodox Church. Managing eight cemeteries, SMCT is one of the area’s largest providers of funeral services and cemetery arrangements. Our staff at Mcorp worked alongside the SMCT team to execute a smooth transition throughout every process of the office move to their new building.

The office relocation was organised over a number of months, with key team members from Mcorp leading the task: Daniel Tragardh. JP (Relocation Management and Storage Consultant), Mark Bramley (Relocation Supervisor), Hayley Carlson (Relocation Management and Storage Consultant). With years of cumulative experience in the office move industry, the team undertook the following end to end services for SMCT:

  • Project managing the relocation
  • Planning and running briefing sessions for all staff prior to relocation
  • Program planning with all key business stakeholders
  • Managing complete server relocation services
  • Managing full IT disconnection services
  • Senior managing of relocating both staff and programs
  • Moving all surplus furniture to storage

Mcorp successfully relocated all of the site staff, content and any reusable furniture, fixtures and other equipment from the trust’s previous headquarters and were pleased to see this valued client settling into their stunning new facility. The office move was well-organised, thoroughly planned and an overwhelming success, with SMCT very happy with the end result of their office relocation, able to celebrate their arrival in their new premises soon after Mcorp completed the job.

The Bunurong Memorial Park was reconditioned as part of a $50 million development contract and Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust wanted the Memorial Park to attract picnickers and sightseers rather than only mourners. A modern cemetery, accommodating all different ethnic communities, Bunurong was intended to appeal to a wider audience. Since opening, Bunurong Memorial Park has hosted birthdays, weddings and bar mitzvah’s, the patrons attracted not by the base purpose of the space but by the striking architecture, landscape gardens and the beautiful surroundings.

Mcorp is proud to have been a part of this project and expansion for the Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust.
